Phoenix Model Flying Club (Dorset)

Rules - Vintage & Playboy 6 Minute Precision 2008

 

  1. Club model Playboy or any power model design may be used provided that its design was published before 1st January 1951. The onus is on the entrant to show that the model is eligible.
  2. Models may, in total, be scaled up or down (except the club model Playboy). Wing section must remain the same.
  3. Strengthening of the airframe is permitted.
  4. Free motor choice
  5. Make 3 ROG flights, timing to start when the model first leaves the ground.
  6. Maximum motor run time to be 2 minutes.
  7. After motor cut, flights to be exactly 6 minutes. Timed from motor cut off until touch down.
  8. One point to be awarded for each second of flight up to 360 seconds.           Deduct one point per second over the 6 min (360 seconds) flight time.
  9. Landing bonus of  50 points for landing on the patch.
  10. Note for ELECTRIC POWERED aircraft: at any time the motor may be used for safety reasons, STOP timing when motor is switched on and a penalty of 50 points will apply. No landing bonus will then be available.
  11. Attempts to be announced before first launching.
  12. Pilot to fly own model (only one model allowed in each class).
  13. Frequency priority will be given to flyers having already started their slot.
  14. Each competitor is responsible for securing a timekeeper and recording results.
  15. Points are shared with equal scores or if appropriate a fly-off arranged.
  16. Return timesheets + entry fee, to the Contest Director, whose decisions are final.
