The final round of this year’s competition produced yet another close contest. With one round to go any one of five pilots could have won today. Chris, who had been unbeaten all year, failed to win half his flights and ended up in fifth place on the day. Ian and Glenn severely damaged a model each but, together with Norman who had been flying superbly all day, ended up with four wins each. In the closely contested fly-off for second place Ian beat Norman, who therefore finished third, with Glenn claiming fourth place. Roly managed to beat Malcolm in the battle for the remaining places. Peter, with only one defeat all day, was the winner, but in the overall series Peter just failed to catch Ian for second place. Chris ended up overall winner due to a strong start to the season with three straight wins. Norman maintains his fourth place, with Malcolm fifth and Roly and Glenn moving up to sixth and seventh places respectively.
I would like to thank Nancy for keeping the score throughout the season - her help is invaluable to the smooth running of the competition. A great day’s flying was enjoyed by all. Next weekend we have the final round of the Wessex Low-Cost 600RES League on Saturday 10 September at Cashmoor. All are welcome.
