The rain held off and despite a few hard landings (crashes) in the blustery conditions seven pilots took part and enjoyed a close fought competition. Contestants were aiming for a maximum score of 270. Mike (still awaiting his A certificate) just beat experienced pilot Peter by one second. Simon damaged his Playboy Senior in the blustery conditions and borrowed a Toro 900 flying wing (Note that this plane is ELECTRIC POWERED!) and scored the same number of points as Malcolm. Simon won the third place fly-off by just four seconds. Overall winner was birthday boy Chris by the handsome margin…… of just one second from our Chairman Rod. A good days flying, a different style of competition allowing any type of plane to be used, and one that was enjoyed by all.
